Consider/Approve Paper Bid for the 2016 – 2017 School Year


Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids from Liberty Paper, Lanzer, Inc., R. J. Young, Howard D. Happy Co., Contract Paper Group, Inc., Office Services, Learning House, American Paper & Twine, J D Distributors, and Staples for the purchase of duplicating paper (11,000 reams, specifications attached), which will be budgeted in the General Purpose School Fund for the 2016 – 2017 fiscal year. We received bids for this purchase as follows:

Howard D. Happy – $29,480
American Paper and Twine – $26,180
JD Distributors – $25,630
Contract Paper Group– $26,565

This year’s bids were competitive with JD Distributors submitting the low bid that met all bid specifications.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the low bid meeting all specifications as submitted by JD Distributors. With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016.
